Plant Machinery & Materials Handling Equipment Repairs
Recycling Equipment Services Ltd carries out the repair, service and maintenance for plant machinery and materials handling equipment across the East Midlands. With skilled engineers, fully equipped mobile workshops, and expertise spanning hydraulics, electronics and mechanical systems, we keep your equipment operational and fully compliant.
All engineers are experienced across a broad range of plant and MHE, from forklifts and telehandlers to loaders, lifting equipment and specialist machinery. We deliver on-site repairs, planned maintenance, statutory inspections, and complete refurbishments with a focus on minimising your equipment downtime.
Plant Machinery Repairs
Our service engineers are trained in multiple disciplines to deliver an outstanding service across a spectrum of plant machinery. We repair, service, inspect and maintain wheeled loaders, tracked loaders, skid steer loaders, telehandlers of all types, excavators from mini to full-size, plant attachments, mixers, compressors and generators.
Our mobile workshops carry comprehensive tooling and diagnostic equipment, enabling us to complete most repairs on-site without the need to transport equipment to a fixed workshop facility.
On-Site Plant Repairs
We conduct on-site inspections and repairs wherever possible to minimise downtime. Our mobile workshop units are equipped for on-site welding and fabrication, gas cutting and metalwork, hydraulic system repairs and hose replacement, mechanical repairs, electrical fault finding, electronic diagnostics, pneumatic system servicing and engine diagnostics.
This on-site capability means your plant machinery can often be repaired where it sits, avoiding the time, cost and logistical challenges of transportation.
Hydraulic System Repairs
Our engineers are specialists in hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs, with the expertise to diagnose and fix even complex hydraulic faults. Services include system diagnostics and fault finding, hydraulic cylinder repair and overhaul, pump testing and replacement, valve block servicing, hydraulic hose manufacture and replacement, system contamination analysis, and pressure testing and adjustment.
We carry a large stock of hydraulic components and hoses on our mobile workshops, along with equipment for manufacturing hydraulic hoses to specification on-site, enabling quick resolution times.
Electrical & Electronic Fault Finding
Our engineers have the diagnostic equipment and training to troubleshoot electrical faults effectively. We provide full system diagnostics using manufacturer-specific and generic diagnostic tools, wiring fault finding and repair, control system diagnostics, sensor testing and replacement, ECU fault diagnosis, and complete electrical rewiring where required.

Materials Handling Equipment Servicing
Forklift Truck Repairs & Maintenance
We provide servicing and repair for all types of forklift trucks, including counterbalance forklifts (diesel, LPG, and electric), reach trucks and narrow aisle equipment, order pickers and stackers, rough terrain forklifts, and side loaders. Our services cover routine maintenance, safety inspections, hydraulic repairs, mast and carriage servicing, tyre replacement and emergency breakdown repairs.
Lifting Equipment Servicing
We service and maintain a wide range of lifting equipment including bin hoists for commercial and industrial waste, truck mounted cranes (Hiab and others), tail lifts of all types, overhead cranes and gantry cranes, as well as lifting accessories such as chains, slings and shackles.
All lifting equipment must be thoroughly examined at specified intervals under LOLER regulations. Our engineers are qualified to conduct these statutory inspections and issue certification.
LOLER & PUWER Inspections
LOLER Inspections
The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) require that all lifting equipment is thoroughly examined by a competent person at specified intervals. We provide comprehensive LOLER inspection services for lifting equipment used for lifting persons (every 6 months), lifting equipment for goods (every 12 months), and lifting accessories.
Our inspections include thorough visual examination, operational testing under load, safety device functionality checks, structural integrity assessment, detailed reporting, and certification where equipment passes inspection.
PUWER Inspections
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) requires that work equipment is maintained in efficient working order.
Our PUWER inspection service ensures your plant and materials handling equipment meets these regulatory requirements, covering safety guards, control systems, warning devices, operator visibility, stability, maintenance condition and operator information.
Regular PUWER inspections help you meet legal obligations, reduce accident risk and maintain equipment in safe working condition.
Planned Maintenance Agreements
Planned maintenance is the most cost-effective approach to managing plant and MHE reliability. We develop maintenance schedules based on your specific equipment, usage patterns, and operational requirements. All maintenance work is documented through our cloud-based system, providing complete equipment history and supporting compliance requirements.
Welding & Fabrication Services
Our mobile workshops are equipped for on-site welding and fabrication, enabling us to carry out structural repairs without transporting equipment. Services include MIG, TIG, and arc welding in steel and aluminium, structural repairs to chassis and frames, fabrication of brackets and fixings, worn component rebuild, crack repair and reinforcement, and replacement of damaged sections.
Our welders are experienced in working on plant machinery and understand the structural considerations involved in repairing load-bearing components.
Plant Machinery Refurbishment
For older or heavily worn plant equipment, a complete refurbishment can restore performance and reliability at a fraction of replacement cost.
Our workshop facility undertakes comprehensive refurbishment including complete strip-down and inspection, structural repairs, hydraulic and engine overhaul, transmission servicing, electrical system rewiring, cab refurbishment, fresh protective coating and paintwork, and full operational testing.
We can collect your equipment, complete the refurbishment at our workshop, and deliver it back ready for immediate use with a written quote provided before work begins.
Equipment We Support
Our service capability extends across plant machinery and materials handling equipment from all major manufacturers including JCB, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, Kubota, Linde, Still, Jungheinrich, Toyota, Manitou, Merlo, Hiab, Palfinger and many others.
Emergency Breakdown Service
Our emergency breakdown service provides rapid response when you need it most, with experienced engineers on call for urgent breakdowns, mobile workshops dispatched quickly, comprehensive diagnostic capability, extensive parts stock for common repairs, and ability to source specialist parts rapidly.
We understand that downtime costs money and disrupts operations. Our engineers work efficiently to diagnose problems and implement solutions, getting your equipment back in service as quickly as possible.
