We are very pleased to announce to you all, that we have won the Accountancy Firm of the Year Award (up to five partners/principals); in the first ever East Midlands Chartered Accountant of the Year Awards dinner hosted by ICAEW.
The award was presented to us last Thursday night, (13th March) at a lavish black tie event, hosted by ICAEW, at Trent Bridge Cricket Club, in which the whole Sibbalds team attended suited and booted.
We were crowned winners after successfully assisting several start-up businesses trade through their first 12 months in business. This has been achieved by not only the clients tenacity but also by our team providing invaluable advice and guiding them through what is usually a life changing event.
The awards body also looked at how we have also actively assisted clients in obtaining regional grants and funding and typically in trying to achieve awards through the Derby Enterprise Growth Fund. The result of which is that a handful of our clients are receiving match funding for specific projects whilst at the same time creating new jobs in the local area.
Over the last 12 months, we as a firm. have also managed to turn around businesses that would otherwise have folded had we not intervened. By preparing monthly or quarterly management accounts and sitting down with directors to assist in implementing strategies, these businesses have managed to achieve better cash flow control and make better decisions based on the correct management information provided to them.
Finally, we have been putting something back to the community by voluntarily giving up our time to assist in the Young Enterprise Scheme. Acting as business advisors for a group of children from a local school, the aim of the scheme is to set up a company, create a business plan and sell their product. This has proven to be a very satisfying and worthwhile cause which will hopefully inspire some of the children to become future entrepreneurs!
This is a proud achievement by Sibbalds and we thank ICAEW for honouring us with this award. This would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of our staff in providing a consistent and invaluable service to our clients and the wider community and we look forward to hopefully repeating the feat at the 2015 awards!
